AO1 (a) mark band 3: I have made a large macro organisation of an area in a media industry and demonstrated a good analysis of North One Media. I have used secondary research and analysed all areas of their work. Such as there TV shows in the UK and abroad, i.e. Australia. Using this secondary research
I found out who some of there employees were. I also found out what awards and previous and current owners they have. Using all this information I made an industry chart and placed all the different information into sections. I showed how one section, like the commercial programming affects different sections like the creative department. They make the company into a brand and try to make it more commercial to the audience. Using all this information I have demonstrated a good analysis of different examples and how it affects the industry products.
AO1 (b) mark band 3: I have defined different roles and responsibilities of employees at the media industry. I have shown how one employee who was the CEO of the industry. I have shown what his job role is and a brief history of him self. I also showed how someone can apply for a job at the industry and how a possible career path is available for anyone with the right CV. I also showed that you can start of with low experience and end up working at a higher job role such as a CEO.
AO4 (c) mark band 2: In my media industry I showed how they represent their audiences. I done this by showing what channels (I.e. Audi channel) represent the audience and what interests they have. So I think they made these new channels (products) to appeal to their audiences and they also addressed social groups and issues. These groups were the employees and roles they had. I think I demonstrated a clear example of how they are structured with the industry.
A02 (a) mark band 3: I think I have used the different advantage and disadvantages of different types of research. I showed primary research which was a questionnaire and asked 20 teenagers in between the ages of 12 to 18. I first used a random search for both female and male and finally got my target audience from this, which was a male audience. In this research I asked what they thought was good and bad about sports and whether having facilities nearby was good or not. I also done secondary research and showed different types of research techniques and understanding; such as the celebrity culture and how it affects the modern day society. I also showed research on stress on teenagers about playing sport, and showing whether it could be a good or bad thing. There were also the 25 different advantages of playing sport, which I thought some was misleading answers. Having this many different types of secondary research I have shown how these can affect my audience and shown the different research techniques.
A02 (b) mark band 3: I showed how my primary and secondary research linked with what my final media product was about. For example, the primary research which had the questionnaire made me to decide that my target audience was going to be male. This was relevant and linked to the proposed media product as I knew who to be filmed in my advert and use a predominantly male sport. I also know having the primary research to ask the audience if having a celebrity sports person would be an advantage also made my mind up whether it was going to feature in my media product. The secondary research of the celebrity culture finally made me decide that I was going to have used this because it has a positive affect on society and it will make people more likely to watch it. So having this research technique will hep with my final product piece and have a purpose and good affect on my media product.
A02 (c) mark band 2: With the practical part I have completed this all on my own with no help. For example, I first set the camera up with the tri-pod to begin the practical filming. I also done different camera angles and used it in different positions for the filming. I done all the filming for this and positioned the camera in many different locations as well. I have also done all the editing, used the practical filming and cut it. For example I had around ten to fifteen minutes of filming, which eventually got cut to just other one minute. Using these many different techniques I think I completed the practical part of my final media product really good.
AO2 (d) mark band 3: I think that I have made extensive progress on my work. For example at the start of the course I done a practical piece of work and could not operate the camera without getting help from anyone else. I was also bad at editing as I could not do this on my own either. After doing my individual practical work such as the camera work (filming) and the editing; I think my skills have increased. My confidence has also increased in using the equipment or doing a similar media product.
AO2 (a) mark band 2: I have done many documents to support my media product. To help with my filming I produced a document so I knew what to film scene by scene. This helped me be more organised with my pre-production. For my production I also done a core sheet to plan out who I was going to have in my film I also used this to show locations as well. After, the post-production was next and I produced a textual analysis which was about how the media product was related to the audience. I also showed how each part to the advert was represented and how it will represent my audience.
AO3 (b) mark band 2: I have produced different technical skills with my media product. For example when each of the scenes in the advert finished the football always went to the left side of the screen. During the next scene it came in the same direction as the previous ball had finished. I think this was good and intended to be skilful with the camera work and editing.
AO3 (c) mark band 3: This media product was a textual analysis and I think I used lots of my imagination when I described the analysis of the advert. For example I used all difference concepts which describes a textual analysis, like the audience, institution and the genre. I addressed the fact that all these different categories showed representation of the audience. I showed how the message was world known and there is more to the advert that’s being shown on TV.
AO4 (d) mark band 3: In my textual analysis of my own media product I concluded how the audience can relate to the music, ideologies and the language in the product. I illustrated how I can improve my work and how I showed a critical evaluation of my work too. For example I said the camera work did not have many different styles of angles such as a zooming effect and a birds eye view. I showed that my product is fit for purpose as the audience can relate to this and the product will grab their attention by showing a sports star in the beginning. It also cuts to ordinary people doing the football skills which the audience will relate to and become excited by the advert. So this is how I showed a well chosen illustration of work, I also showed a critical evaluation of my work and product’ fitness for purpose.
AO4 (d) mark band 2: My product has shown good media texts and can be understood by the audience. For example the found footage showed media language and texts by saying “it is for younger people, like you!!!” This then cut to the scenes where the ordinary people were playing football. The audience will know that this is related to them and feel connected to the advert immediately after this. After the football actions the media texts shows a rhetorical question for them to think if there is anything better to do, meaning the exercise. So the media texts is easily interpreted by the audience.
